black tailed prairie dogs.prairie dogs were at one time abundant in the western united states.people killed most of the and now only ten percent still remain.


Growing cities. During the 20 century growing cities took over more and more  the prairie land.  The numbers of prairie plants and animals shrunk along with the size of there natural habitat.


vanishing prairie dogs. By the end of the 20 century  the range of the prairie dog from Mexico to Canada had shrunk to almost two percent of it's former size.Prairie dog population greatly reduced. One north American prairie dogs  species was on the endangered list. Other animals that are dependent to the prairie dogs for survival suffered too.


Black-footed ferret. the black-footed ferret is a member of the weasel family.It's main source of food is the prairie dog.Because the prairie dog population has been drastically reduced.this ferret is now an endangered animal.
